CNEAS and OECD Sign Intent Letter

The China National Academy of Education Sciences (CNAES) and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) concerning cooperation between the two organizations on February 14. Wang Jiayi, Chinese Vice Minister of Education, attended the signing ceremony and met with Andreas Schleicher, Director for Education and Skills at the OECD.

In accordance with the LOI, both sides will conduct cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including data collection, development of education indicators, and analysis and research on education policies. The cooperation may take multiple forms, such as joint educational research, jointly-organized education-related activities, work meetings and seminars, visits and exchanges of personnel and experts, exchange of information and data, and promotion and dissemination of joint research results.

The ceremony followed Schleicher's previous visit to CNAES, which produced in-depth discussions and agreement on cooperation in smart education evaluation index system and publishing English magazines.

Dr. Schleicher and Dr. Li Yongzhi, President of CNAES signed the LOI on behalf of their respective institutions. Officials from MOE and CNAES also attended the signing ceremony.
