In recent years, NIES has made important achievements in the field of scientific and technological research. Under the leadership of the Ministry of Education, NIES has focused on the strategic and forward-looking studies in the main theoretical and practical issues which have arisen in the course of educational reform and development, and thus contributed to state-level policy-making.
On February 10, 2011, Liu Yandong, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and State Councilor, inspected NIES. Liu spoke highly of NIES for the significant role it had played in formulating the Outline of China’s National Plan for Long- and Mid-term Education Reform and Development (2010—2020), and also for the great achievements it had made in recent years. She requested that, due to the new situation, new tasks and new requirements of educational reform and development in China, NIES should endeavor to be a think tank in education with Chinese characteristics, and provide strong support to build a country which is innovative and rich in human resources.
With its open mind and global perspective, NIES strives to provide consultation on policy-making, innovate theory[,] and guide practice in the field of education. It will continue to seek comprehensive cooperation with other institutions.
Hereby, we thank you for the concern and support ever for us. We sincerely look forward to cooperating with friends from both inside and outside China.
