NIES Representatives Attend 5th Meeting of Chinese, Korean and Japanese National Educational Research Institutes

  

From November 24th to 26th, 2015, by the invitation of Korea Educational Development Institute, Wang Yan, Head of the Department of International Cooperation, Liu Fang, Director of the Evaluation Center of Educational Supervision and Wang Su, Director of the International Comparative Educational Institute attended the Fifth Meeting among the Heads of the Chinese, Japanese and Korean National Institutes of Educational Research held in Seoul, Korea.

During the conference, Dr. Baek Sun-Geun, President of the Korean Educational Development Institute (KEDI), Dr. Otsuki Tatsuya, Director-General of the Japanese National Institute for Educational Policy Research (NIER) and Director Wang Yan introduced the recent research of their respective institutions. The three parties carried out a discussion on the Agenda of 2030 of UNESCO, and exchanged opinions ideas for future cooperation. On behalf of the heads of NIES, Dr. Wang Yan delivered a keynote speech entitled, “The Change of Global Educational Cooperation Design: the Function of National Educational Study Institutes” and stated the program proposal book of the Comparative Study on the Student Constitution of China, Japan and Korea raised by the Center of Sports, Health and Art of NIES. The Korean representatives proposed to hold an international seminar and conduct cooperative research with Southeastern Asian countries. By convention, NIES will hold the Sixth Meeting among the Heads of the Chinese, Japanese and Korean National Institutes of Educational Research. Director Wang Yan introduced the seminars concerning the Sixth Meeting among the Heads of the Chinese, Japanese and Korean National Institutes of Educational Research held in 2016, and the cooperation of the Southeast Asian-China Education Research Network co-established by Southeastern Educational Ministerial Organization, China-ASEAN Center and NIES. She invited the leaders of the Korean and Japanese institutes to attend the conference.

During the visit in Korea, Director Wang Yan attended the Post-2015 Educational Agenda and Global Cooperation Conference hosted by Korea Educational Development Institute. During the conference, she gave a keynote speech on the Changes of Global Educational Cooperation Design, based on the theme report, Global Educational Supervision Report, produced by Aaron Bevanot from UNESCO. The delegation also attended the Higher Education Quality Assurance Conference, and Director Wang Su gave a speech on entitle, China’s Branding Strategy of Promoting Overseas Education.

Before the conference, Director Wang Yan, in her capacity as the coordinator of APEC Education Network, held a talk with the president of Korean APEC Educational Cooperation Institute. With the coordination from the Korean APEC Educational Cooperation Institute, Director Wang Su and Director Liu Fang visited Seoul Technology High School of Korea.
