The president of Russian Institute of Education Sciences (Людмила Алексеевна Вербицкая) visited the NIES on May 16th, 2015. Professor Dr. Tian Huisheng met the guests and gave an introduction on the NIES, with particular attention given to recent work and the role of the NIES in guiding the nation’s policy-making on innovation educational theory and educational practice. The president of Russian Institute of Education Sciences (Людмила Алексеевна Вербицкая) also made an introduction of the RIES, its mission and funding structure, and elaborated the organizational chart of the institution. He also revealed that RIES was preparing to build a research center in Russia focused on Chinese education. Tian said the NIES was willing to provide documentation and information to support the effort of the RIES, for which, president of Russian Institute of Education Sciences (Людмила Алексеевна Вербицкая) expressed his appreciation. Both presidents expressed the view that the two institutes are similar in their roles, missions, research areas, etc., and there would be great potential for cooperation. After the meeting, the two presidents signed an agreement which outlined future cooperation on education consultation,, education research and information exchange.
